What this is

Maquet Flow-i C20 anaesthesia workstation, supplied with a Philips IntelliVue MX800 patient monitor and gas hoses. The Flow-i is built on the Maquet SERVO ventilation platform and uses the Volume Reflector re-breathing system in place of a conventional breathing circuit.

Condition and tested status

• Powers on and reaches STANDBY. The system screen loads and the ventilator menu is accessible.
• System checkout has not been performed. The unit displays SYSTEM CHECKOUT NOT PERFORMED. We have not run a full check, leakage check or vaporiser check.
• No function testing has been carried out beyond confirming power-up. We have not ventilated a test lung or verified delivered volumes, pressures or gas concentrations.
• At the time of photography the unit showed low O2 and Air supply pressure alarms. These are expected when the machine is not connected to a piped medical gas supply and are not evidence of a fault.
• The unit also reports Water trap missing. The gas analyser water trap is not fitted and is not included.
• Cosmetic condition is used ex-hospital. See photographs.

No vaporiser is fitted

This machine is supplied without an anaesthetic agent vaporiser. The on-screen gas bar reads No agent, and no vaporiser is present in the vaporiser position.

This matters, so we will be direct about it: without a vaporiser the Flow-i cannot deliver volatile anaesthetic agent. It will still function as a ventilator.

The Flow-i takes a dedicated Getinge / Maquet 950-series electronic injection vaporiser, which is agent-specific. These are not interchangeable with Selectatec-mount vaporisers — a Drager Vapor 2000, Penlon Sigma Delta or similar plenum vaporiser cannot be adapted to fit. Source the correct Getinge / Maquet unit through Getinge or a used equipment dealer before committing, and budget for it.

Before clinical use

Whoever supplies it, an anaesthesia workstation requires electrical safety testing, full commissioning and verification by a qualified biomedical engineer or the manufacturer, plus decontamination, before it is used on a patient. That is the buyer's responsibility. We supply the hardware, not the certification.

This is a large, heavy item. If the flat rate at checkout does not cover carriage, we will contact you with a shipping quote after payment. Collection from Blackburn is welcome.
